Wallace W. Bridge, 84, died on Feb. 17, 2011, in at Kissimmee, Fla.

Mr. Bridge "Wally" was born and raised in Hazardville (Enfield), Conn., son of Chester G. and Helen W. Bridge, and attended the local grammar school and three years at Enfield (Conn.) High School. He then attended Williston Academy in Easthampton, Mass., and was graduated from that institution in 1945. He attended Maine Maritime Academy, class of 1947, studying marine engineering.

He later served as a special agent with military intelligence in Boston, during the Korean War. He was employed at C.M. Rice Paper Co. in Portland, and later entered one of the family businesses, the King's Oil Co., Brewer, from which he retired as president in 1978.

He served as a trustee of Brewer Savings Bank for nine years, and also served as president of the Brewer Economic Development Corp. during the formative years of the Brewer Industrial Park.

He was preceded in death by Jean, his wife of 45 years; and his last wife, Alice, of nine years. He is survived by two terrific daughters, Deborah Morrill and Alexandra McNeal, both of Kissimmee, Fla., and a very special granddaughter, Nicole Tyson, of Mount Sterling, Ky., all of whom he was very proud. He was preceded in death by two younger brothers, David Bridge of Manchester and Peter Bridge of Burlington, Vt.; and a sister, Elizabeth Monson and husband, Justin, of Hallowell. He is survived by a younger brother, John Bridge, and his wife, Charlene, of Manchester and The Villages, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Bridge of Manchester and Mary Ellen Bridge of Burlington, Vt.; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends.

There will be no formal service, and the family requests no flowers be sent.
