Lloyd “Jack” Turner ’69, manager of Cushings Island, died in Scarborough, Maine on July 30, 2010. He spent over 30 years at sea as an engineer, retiring in 2001 from Maersk Line. In 2005, he and his wife became year-round managers of the homes on Cushings Island, Casco Bay, Maine. He earned a sterling reputation as an island steward and found that his engineering skills were crucial to his success. While on Cushings Island, he developed an interest in genealogy, and his investigations revealed the fact that some of his ancestors were early owners of the island.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jackie, and two sons.
