Wesley F. Besse '52
Captain Wesley F. Besse, of Toms River, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. He was born in Elizabeth, and graduated from Maine Maritime Academy. He traveled world-wide as a Master Mariner with Exxon Corp. until his retirement in 1986. He was an accomplished amateur artist and Camera Club member at Greenbriar Woodlands, as well as a member of the Circumnavigators Club, Council of Master Mariners and Marine Society of New York.
He was predeceased by his parents, Capt. Wesley Besse and Leah Alice Besse. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Audrey; his sons, Mark and Robert; his step-children, Audrey Anne, William and Michael; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Following a 9 a.m. funeral service at Christ Church in Toms River, Capt. Besse will be interred at Graceland Cemetery in Kenilworth, on Friday, Dec. 31. Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements
