Charles E. Anderson ’61, Master Mariner, died April 30, 2010 in Rockport, Massachusetts. His friends knew him as “Toddy” Anderson. He received his US Navy commission upon graduation. In 1968, he attained his US Coast Guard Master Mariner license and sailed as a master on a variety of ships, retiring as master of the LNG Gemini in 2000. When he retired, he built the lobster boat Snow Squall and fished commercially for the last nine years. In addition to having a passion for the ocean, he also loved his apple and citrus trees, his two Maine coon cats, and English Springer spaniel. He was a ham radio operator and a volunteer examiner for the American Radio Relay League. At the time of his illness, he was Post Commander of the Doucette-Lingard VFW Post #1624 and a member of the United Veterans Council.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dianne.
